Watching 5 year olds play basketball….entertaining!
My little man is getting older, but he still loves his trains. We enjoyed a fun time in Denton at the Denton Farm Park on Friday evening. Their train ride is stellar and the park decorations are amazing!
They unabashedly proclaim the birth of Jesus every chance they get, so they get extra points in my book.

I’m a huge heavy music fan. Today’s the 25th anniversary of the death of Cliff Burton, bass player for Metallica. He really was the Hendrix of bass players. Amazing talent…gone too soon.
Enjoyed some time on Thursday with students from Western Carolina University. We talked about LinkedIn and Social Media Etiquette and I really think they “got it.” I’ve had several of them connect with me on LI and express thanks.
Stayed Thursday night in an awesome Best Western on the river in Dillsboro, NC. Their incredible deck overlooked the river and it was very relaxing.
Friday was spent with members of The Jackson County Chamber. They seemed really appreciative and according to them, they learned about social marketing.
A good couple of days well-spent.
Conversions don’t happen immediately. It takes time. You have to work to develop your audiences. You can’t set up Twitter and just sit there and expect 1,000 followers to gloriously appear. Don’t be so quick to blow off Twitter as tool to drive conversions. Set up specific campaigns and landing pages with analytics. Measure, assess, tweak, repeat. Again, like everything else in life…you get out of it what you put into it.

Had a great time this morning speaking to students at High Point University about social media etiquette and the importance of LinkedIn!
Christmas will be coming to an end this time next week. Always very depressing. It comes and goes so fast.
In The High Country of NC with the family all weekend. Went hiking up behind Cone Manor and the Blue Ridge Parkway today. There’s a long trail that takes you through the woods and opens up into a large meadow. If you keep walking through the meadows and up the hill you turn around and get an amazing view. It was a bit hazy today, but they loved it.
This song came on my mp3 player today when I was mowing and I realized it had some heavy metal tendencies. There’s some good heavy guitar in the background and the solos at the end of the song scream metal.
I work out of my home, so the summer’s been great. There’s no big rush to get ready and get my eldest to school. Next week begins the ritual again of getting up early and in the car by 8am. A blessing and a curse because it will get me going a bit earlier, but it means I don’t get to stay up as late and will only see one Seinfeld rerun per night.
